7th November Shoot

This shoot was dedicated to filming the 50s scene, and re-shooting the 90s.

We filmed the 90s first. We kept the props, lighting and costume the same as on the previous shoot, because this had worked well:

The difference this time was framing. After watching the earlier footage we had decided we would position the camera on eye-level, for all the shot types.

After this we set up for the 50s scene, using the props and lighting we had decided on:
This set up consisted of a jukebox in the centre of the set, with two 50s-style cars (cut-outs) on either side
The jukebox was made of cardboard and we had to prop it up from behind to prevent it falling over. We used the drum kit stool to do this.

We put up the cars by tying them to invisible string attached to the lights above. We tried to pierce holes in the cars to loop the string through, but this was too difficult so we used cellotape instead.

Here are some photographs from the 50s set:

This is the footage from that day after we edited it together:

After editing, watching it over and getting feedback from Ms Blackborow, we decided what worked well:
- costume
- lighting
- set
- choreography

These all conveyed our eras and turned out the way we wanted. However, what did not work well was the lip sync, which we found didn't look convincing enough because Jacob wasn't actually singing. To fix this, we decided we would work with Jacob on the lip sync, and re-shoot the footage from that day.
