Our
research showed that artists almost always have a merchandise page on their website. It creates opportunities for both fan involvement with the artist and for profit. These are two key purposes of an artist's website.
Because of this we wanted to have a merchandise page on our website. This is what our merchandise looks like:
|
Clothing - for all genders to include all fans |
|
Accessories - gender neutral items |
Using the band logo/album cover design for the merchandise is a good idea because it is an easily recognisable feature of the band, and it means that if someone were wearing merchandise in public they would actually be promoting the band at the same time, leading to greater artist recognition. Black is also a gender neutral, universal colour, so it isn't likely to prevent a fan from buying the merchandise.
